Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen

Flipped was written by Wendelin Van Draanen
Genre: Juvenile Fiction
Sub-genre: Fiction
Theme: Taking a deeper look inside a person.
Primary and Secondary Characters: Bryce and Julianna are the primary characters. The secondary characters are Bryce's grandfather and Lynetta.
Awards: None
Publisher and Date of Publication: Random House Publishing; 2001
Summary and Uses: In alternating chapters, two teenagers describe how their feelings about themselves, each other, and their families have changed over the years. This novel is a great read for all students. I think students will connect to the feelings that are described in this book. I would have students do a free write about their feelings about themselves and others.
