Summary and Uses: This book is such a wonderful children's book to read to your class. Vashti is in an art class and has no idea what to draw or create. The teacher encourages her to make a mark on the paper and she ended up with just a simple dot. She was inspired and made all kinds of dots! At the end, she a young boy comes up to her telling her how wonderful her artwork is. She encourages him to do his own art work and sign it! This book will encourage all students of any age to "make their mark." This book could be used as an inspiration in an art class or as a story to respond to.
