This book is a humorous story about Mrs. Millie taking her class on a field trip to pick a pumpkin. Mrs. Millie is very energetic and enthusiastic and tends to get a little too excited. Mrs. Millie gets her words wrong throughout the book which is what makes this book so funny. During their trip, the class goes on a dragon (wagon) ride, sees a harecrow (scarecrow), and drinks apple spider (cider). I would read this book to my class during fall time right before Halloween. Since Mrs. Millie rhymes words, I would do a lesson on rhyming words. This would be a great way to incorporate literature across curriculum.
